A non-profit organization has distributed 20 low-cost hose clamp assembly machines to rural communities in Kenya and Tanzania, enabling local production of clamps for water pumps. The machines run on solar power and require minimal training to operate, allowing communities to repair pumps quickly instead of waiting for imported parts. Over 500 water pumps have been repaired using locally made clamps, improving access to clean water for 15,000+ people.
